The North Queensland Region Early Childhood Education and Care Team is looking for a motivated and dedicated individual that is passionate about improving quality in early childhood. If you are looking for an opportunity to lead early years priorities (including quality improvement, leadership development and inclusion) working in partnership with Early Childhood Education and Care services and schools, this job is for you. This position is based at Aitkenvale State School.

North Queensland Region is seeking applicants with skills and experience inleading quality improvement initiatives in an the early years.

About You

What we're looking for in the ideal candidate:
The successful applicants should ideally possess an early childhood qualification or experience, and demonstrate strong theoretical knowledge and application of contemporary practice that supports the provision of quality in ECEC services.

You should be confident in leading change, supporting and facilitating Communities of Practice, and reporting on outcomes.

The core objectives of the position will be to:
Work in partnership with ECEC services and educators to build capacity to support ongoing quality improvement and implementation of effective practices in line with National Quality Standard; and
Support leadership development in ECEC to strengthen quality improvement

Your role

As the Early Childhood Manager, you will focus on supporting the achievement of Early Childhood Education and Care's (ECEC) regional priority for 2021, Giving Every Child a Great start.

Focus areas include:
Participation and attendance with the aim to Increase participation and attendance of 4 year old Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and disadvantaged children in quality Kindergarten programs in identified communities.
Quality of Early Childhood Education Programs with an aim to increase the number of early childhood services meeting or exceeding the National Quality Standards
Supporting successful transition pathways for children into kindergarten and into school with an aim to increase transition statements provided and used by the school to support continuity of teaching and learning
Strengthening quality inclusive practices
Supporting leadership development and growth in early childhood

As the Early Childhood Manager, you will have responsibility for the following:

Lead and develop regional initiatives to support the quality improvement of ECEC services in line with QLD Regulating for Quality framework and NQS
Ensure regional initiatives aimed to support quality ECEC improvement are informed through regional data and are based on evidence informed strategies.
Collate regional data and report on regional strategies in line with state-wide quality improvement targets set at a regional level
Lead and collaborate with team members to deliver quality improvement strategies focussed on improvement in line with National Quality Framework, contemporary theory and relevant to the context of ECEC services.
Contribute to the development and management of a range of integrated strategic early childhood initiatives
Establish and co-ordinate relevant communities of practice and professional learning communities to support quality improvement.

Develop partnerships and work collaboratively with:
Other work areas and regional teams to ensure strategies area aligned to the quality improvement strategies.
ECEC services and regional partners in implementing ECEC specific initiatives
Other departments and non-government organisations to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and information sharing to support early childhood priority initiatives relating to quality improvement.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
