Full Job Description
The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia; we are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services, education and research within a region covering over 149,500km with a population of approximately 250,000 people.

We cover the continuum of healthcare services from advanced, highly specialised, tertiary-level healthcare at the main hospital to secondary and primary-level hospital and community healthcare across 20 facilities. The main facility is located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University.

About your opportunity

The Surgical Service Group offers a comprehensive range of tertiary services including Cardio-thoracic Surgery and Cardiology, Neurosurgery, ENT, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Maxillofacial, Gynaecology, Vascular Surgery, Hyperbaric Medicine, Critical Care inclusive of level III (C 24 status) Intensive Care Services, Coronary Care and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Cardiac Investigations Unit, Operating Theatres, Day Surgery, Paediatric Surgery and Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Services.

This position offers a wide range of General Surgical procedures performed with Surgeons having subspecialty interests as well as subspecialty referrals are received from other centres in North Queensland. This position offers potential rotations through General Surgery, Urology, ICU, Paediatric Surgery and Private.

Generous remuneration package value up to $166,466 p.a. comprising salary range of $110,712 to $128,362 p.a. (L4-L9), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
