Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Special Education Program as the Deputy Principal (Special Education). As Deputy Principal (Special Education) at Mountain Creek you will improve the educational outcomes of all students in the school, especially those with disabilities through a strong inclusive approach. You will also play an active role in developing the quality of teaching and learning, specifically team teaching, and further develop an inclusive school wide philosophy in supporting all earners to succeed, with a specific focus on ICP development for non-verified students. You will achieve these goals while nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.

Your Role

As the Deputy Principal (Special Education) you will have responsibility for the following:

Assist the Principal to lead the school community through the school special education program (SEP) or early childhood development program (ECDP) to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Deputise for the Principal when required.
Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
Be futures oriented and strategic.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students with disability.
Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the SEP/ECDP to achieve goals.

Relocation and travel expenses are not provided for acting positions however may be negotiated in circumstances requiring significant travel and relocation of residence.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE.
