The Opportunity:
An opportunity exists for an experienced HR Advisor to partner collaboratively with the business in the provision of human resources advice. The role is based at our Mackay Branch.

Using a proactive and flexible approach, the successful applicant will provide a range of end to end HR advice and support to line managers and employees including people development, role and organisation design, EA negotiations, performance development, including investigation of performance issues / counselling of employees, employee engagement initiatives and provision of HR metric reporting with insights to allow informed decision making.

You will work closely with line managers within your region to develop a true HR business partnership that will ensure decisions made within the region take into consideration the needs of our workforce and organisational strategies. This truly generalist role will be responsible for supporting initiatives and implementing tools that enhance the performance and engagement of our people and you will also have opportunity to participate in broader HR initiatives and projects. To provide effective support, there will be some travel both locally and interstate. A current driver’s license and the flexibility to travel overnight will be required.

The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:
A minimum of 8+ years' experience as a HR Advisor or Business Partner within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
Extensive experience & direct involvement with negotiating Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Unfair Dismissal and Adverse Action Hearings
Solid understanding of employment relations and HR policies and procedures and Award/Enterprise Agreements
Proven track record in the end-to-end human resources processes, systems including recruitment and performance development
Tertiary qualifications in a business or related discipline with a focus on the Human Resource Management function is preferred
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships in a collaborative manner with all key stakeholders
The ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) at all levels within the organisation
A current Driver’s License
