Full Job Description

As a member of the Category Procurement Team reporting directly to the Category Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the sourcing of goods and/or services across nominated categories within the business. This role will support the Category Manager and wider Procurement team based within our new offices at Redbank (MILVEHCOE).

About the role

As a Procurement Specialist at Rheinmetall Defence Australia, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the sourcing of goods and/or services across nominated categories within the business, conducting analysis and market research on a variety of sourcing projects.

As the Procurement Specialist, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

The management of quotes, tenders for securing goods and services that deliver the best overall commercial value;
Strategic sourcing; negotiation of pricing and other commercial arrangements with suppliers;
Supplier Relationship management; performance reporting and reviews;
Actively drive cost reductions and increase value for money while championing opportunities for improvement;
Contribute to the development, implementation and continued improvement of procurement related working instructions and guidelines;
Effectively represent RDA and liaise with industry bodies and government industry representatives to ensure alignment with Rheinmetall global processes;
Engagement with internal stakeholders across the business to develop and maintain effective, efficient and cooperative working relationships; and
Provide support to the Category Procurement Manager for periodical reporting activities, reviews and Australian Industry Capability industry requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

Proven experience & results in end to end procurement within a multinational company;
The ability to demonstrate experience across sourcing, tendering and category management;
Commercial acumen and negotiation skills;
Previous experience with Microsoft Office tools & MRP/ ERP systems;
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
Knowledge of basic Contract Administration;
Proven problem solving ability;
Experience of delivering in a fast paced dynamic team environment where performance is measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which are to be managed and maximised;
An ability to travel interstate if and when required; and
Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening.

Hold a qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain related fields. Supply Chain certification, such as CIPS or APICS will be advantageous;
Professional experience working in the Defence or Automotive industry;
Understanding of manufacturing industry and production processes; and
Experience with SAP & e-Sourcing Tools.
