Integrated Transport Planning and Design

The position sits within the Integrated Transport Planning and Design department. The primary focus of this department is to plan, manage and design the region’s integrated transport network consistent with Council’s corporate strategic vision, policies and strategies.

About the Opportunity:
As our Coordinator Design Services, you will take the lead of a highly talented and professional team of civil engineering design specialists. You will be responsible for the delivery of civil engineering design solutions to drive integrated and sustainable outcomes.

In addition, you will:
providing advice and expertise to key stakeholders in the development of innovative design solutions in line with contemporary best practice and council’s policy and strategic business requirements
lead the delivery of a strategic work program of complex integrated civil engineering design projects to achieve strategic and business outcomes
develop quality control processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives to modernise design standards and output from the team
manage the annual Council internal civil design program ensuring that design projects are completed promptly to meet program schedules and corporate Key Performance Indicators
drive a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused team culture
build high level relationships across a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality design and service delivery outcomes are achieved.

About you:
We are seeking someone ready to take on the challenges and opportunities offered by joining one of Australia's fastest growing regions. You will have excellent leadership capabilities, highly refined technical skills and passion within the civil design industry.

You will have:
substantial knowledge and experience in the delivery of complex civil engineering planning and design solutions
experience in managing a team of civil design specialists to drive high performance outcomes, design reviews and approvals
high level understanding of and awareness of Queensland and Australian Standards and Specifications relating to civil engineering design
experience in the timely delivery of a strategic work program of complex civil engineering planning and design projects
extensive experience in providing strategic advice in unfamiliar or emergent circumstances and in a rapidly changing policy environment
excellent communication skills to meet the needs of a range of internal and external stakeholders
experience in the development of complex technical reports and proposals.

Term: Up to 4 years
Tenure: Full Time Contract
Location: Strathpine
Package: TRP up to $188,472 76 hour fortnight 5 weeks leave

Work Location

Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has administration offices located at Caboolture, Strathpine and Redcliffe as well as depots, libraries and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
