About the role:

Our successful Bulk business group is looking to fill multiple permanent loco driver roles based out of Mackay. Focusing on infrastructure trains and working in a close-knit team of 10, you will be required to work away from home in remote sign on locations for up to 10 days.

We are seeking applications from safety focused, team orientated individuals to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard operations.
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Apply 'best practice' train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations.

About you:

  • Route competencies in the Blackwater, Goonyella and Newlands System an advantage
  • Experience in QLD Safeworking Systems (preferable)
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations
  • Ability to work away extensively from home within Central Queensland
  • Current unrestricted Class C drivers’ licence
  • A strong commitment to safety with an ability to work unsupervised
  • Work in with customer requests
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift work roster including availability to work weekends
