The Power Grids business offers power and automation products, systems, service and software solutions across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain.

We are pioneering the digitalization of transformers, while working on the frontier of renewable energy and ultra-high voltage AC & DC applications.

A new and exciting opportunity to join our Power Grids Transformers business as a Product and Contract Specialist, based out of our New Plymouth office is now available. Main responsibilities are Marketing, sales support and contract management for all transformer types (DRY, DTR, SPT, MPT) within allocated markets. Build sustainable customer relationships through comprehensive value offerings, contract/project management and issue resolutions. Support division sales responsible in reaching top line order and revenue targets.

Contract management execution in all aspects being tendering, terms and conditions and project execution in accordance with the contract framework and relevant Hitachi ABB Power Grids directives and instructions

Your responsibilities
Liaise closely with Hitachi ABB Power Grids source factories to maintain their ongoing support and service in delivery of information and quotation, Tender and quotation preparation and process including technical feedback and product fit
Meet tender timelines including scheduling of any require risk reviews
Monitoring of financial aspects of contracts including obtaining FX contracts
Manage all aspects of imported transformer contracts, ensure contractual obligations are meet, One-time delivery of documents and product
Ensure any warranty issues resolved in timely manner and to the agreed solution
Work cooperatively with supply factories to continually improve customer experience
Build and maintain appropriate and effective customer relationships
Customer complaint resolution using CCRP tool and customer contact
Supports and assists development and implementation of improved process and systems
Entry and maintenance of Sales Force opportunities, tenders and orders along with win/loss feedback

Your background
A Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering Desirable
Minimum 3-5 years dealing with industrial electrical products and a working knowledge of how these products are positioned in electrical distribution network.
Experience with transformers would be desirable but not essential
Experience and understanding of contract / project management
Relevant tertiary qualifications or minimum 3-year experience in similar role
Familiarity with Distribution Networks and how they interface with National Grid
Sound understanding of electrical products that are key components in the national grid and distribution networks
Ability to understand the technical specification of customer RFP’s (Request for Proposal) for networks and grid improvement projects.
The ability to recognize legal and commercial issues that require peer advice
Ability to communicate with clients at senior level and show a high level of maturity
