What we're looking for as the Early Childhood Team Leader:

The successful applicants should ideally possess an early childhood qualification or experience, and demonstrate strong knowledge and application of inclusive pedagogy and practice that supports the inclusion of all children in quality ECEC services and early learning programs. The applicant should be confident in leading change, supporting professional learning, and reporting on outcomes.

The core objectives of the position will be to:

Strengthen inclusive pedagogy and practice by leading and developing regional initiatives to support ECEC services to build their capacity to be inclusion ready and support the effective inclusion of all children.
Support ECEC services and early learning program providers to build capacity to provide culturally responsive environments and practices that support the inclusion of all children and families
Support ECEC services and partnering organisations understanding of referral pathways and collaborative service provision to support young children and their families.

Your role

As the Early Childhood Team Leader, you will focus on supporting the achievement of Early Childhood Education and Care's (ECEC) regional priority for 2021, Giving Every Child a Great start. Focus areas include:

Participation and attendance with the aim to Increase participation and attendance of 4 year old Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and disadvantaged children in quality Kindergarten programs in identified communities.
Quality of Early Childhood Education Programs with an aim to increase the number of early childhood services meeting or exceeding the National Quality Standards in quality area 1, 5, 6 & 7.
Supporting successful transition pathways for children into prep with an aim to increase transition statements provided and used by the school to support continuity of teaching and learning
Strengthening quality inclusive practices
Supporting leadership development and growth in early childhood

As the Team Leader, you will have responsibility for the following:

Leading and developing regional initiatives to support the inclusion of all children in ECEC services and through transition to school pathways with a specific focus on vulnerable and disadvantaged cohorts, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children in out of home care and children with disability.
Ensuring regional initiatives aimed to support inclusive practices and wellbeing are informed through regional data and are based on evidence informed strategies.
Collating regional data and report on regional strategies in line with state-wide targets.
Leading collaboration with team members to deliver quality inclusive strategies focussed on improvement in line with National Quality Framework
Contributing to the development and management of a range of integrated strategic early childhood initiatives
Developing partnerships and working collaboratively with:
Other work areas and regional teams to ensure strategies area aligned to inclusion and wellbeing policies.
ECEC services and regional partners in implementing ECEC specific initiatives
Other departments and non-government organisations to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and information sharing to support implementation of the state-wide transition to school approach and other early childhood priority initiatives.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
