The Role

As HR Business Partner for the Queensland region, you will provide human resources support to all teams and staff in Queensland, working closely with senior leaders in the region including the State Manager and Area Managers. We currently employ 300-350 staff within QLD.

The HR Business Partner is a key member of the HR Pacific team driving change and transformation activities whilst supporting the business operations in Australia to achieve further growth and success.

This position will ensure that Australia achieves the best from, and for its people: the optimum culture, structure and costs to ensure high levels of customer excellence and profitable business growth, whilst creating an environment of career success, engagement and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Management of employee relations matters
  • Conducting investigations and supporting the performance management process
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and employee engagement
  • Work with leaders to identify talent and emerging leaders, and implement talent plans to ensure key roles have successors
  • Coaching managers in human resources processes and leadership
  • Coordination of the remuneration programs including the annual salary and bonus review, and the quarterly incentive programs
  • Management of workers compensation claims across QLD, and ensuring Work Health Safety processes and procedures are followed
  • Working with managers with their recruitment and on boarding needs
  • Collaborating with other members of the Pacific HR team on key business projects

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a HR Generalist role supporting HR activities for a high number of employees, including emergency response
  • A good understanding of employment law, and has previously worked in a role with employees covered by an award
  • Experience managing poor performance, carrying out investigations and supporting the performance management process
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with stakeholders and employees
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing WorkCover claims
  • A proven ability to influence across all levels of the organisations and lead people
  • Experience working with HR systems such as Workday
