About Morayfield State High School

Morayfield State High School is a large, complex secondary school with an ICSEA of 947 and a population where there is a significant percentage of students who are developmentally vulnerable in one or more of the following areas; physical health and wellbeing, social competence, emotional maturity, language and cognitive skills, communication skills and general knowledge. The school population includes many students with a strong cultural identity as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 20% of students have been identified through the NCCD process as requiring additional support or intervention to achieve. 47 different cultural groups are represented in the school's fast-growing student population.

Your Role

As the Deputy Principal you will have responsibility for the following:

Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Deputise for the Principal when required.
Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
Be futures oriented and strategic.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
Manage resources to achieve goals.

Key portfolio responsibilities will include:

Line management and quality assurance responsibilities for Implementation of the Australian Curriculum.
Overseeing Junior Secondary initiatives including transition and enrolment from primary partner schools.
Actioning the Smart Classrooms strategy including Bring Your Own Device and embedding ICTs into student learnin

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE.
