The Role
The purpose of the role is to use your blend of communication, data & technical skills to alleviate technical debt, build robust solutions (Tableau & SQL), build models that facilitate scenario analysis, analyses performance and identify insights to support business decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate and streamline reporting / analytical processes
  • Provide technical expertise / support for peers with complicated SQL queries including tradeoffs between performance and readability / maintenance
  • Analyze data in the context of the business environment to provide insight into and / or recommendations for key stakeholders
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis and modelling as required to support business initiatives
  • Provide reports and insights that enable a clear, fact-based view of ‘performance' to inform motor STC decision-making.
  • Build models that facilitate scenario modelling to support decisions related to business process / model re-engineering
  • Measure and evaluate core operational data and service performance to identify process improvement opportunities and efficiencies and to drive innovation in support of the financial year commercial, TCE and service targets.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong capability and experience in SQL and data warehousing is essential
  • Some data solution design related to reusable reporting assets is highly desirable
  • Ability to interpret numerical data and clearly communicate the interpretation
  • Experience in Tableau desirable
  • Able to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders and team members
  • Can work independently but thrives in an empowered team environment
  • Experience in insurance well regarded
