The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Assistants in Nursing (Sterilising Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

Have a working knowledge of relevant Standards AS/NZS 4187 2014 and have completed a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services
Perform the duties required as per Standards in order to reprocess reusable medical devices which are safe to use for medical procedures
Have a level of fitness that will be able to safely complete manual handling task, such as pushing and pulling of trolleys and repetitive lifting of instrument trays
Be able to work shift work and work across all sites

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

Certificate III in Sterilising Services is mandatory
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Permanent full time, permanent part time, temporary full time, temporary part time (several positions, hrs negotiable)
Base salary ranging from $62 382 - $64 208 per annum, $2391.10 - $2461.10 per fortnight, $31.46 - $32.38 per hour

Central Sterilisation Services within Gold Coast University Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS) is provided by three main facilities at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), Robina Hospital and Varsity Lakes Day Hospital (VLDH). These three state of the art Central Sterilising Departments (CSD) service 30 operating theatres as well as wards and Oral Health.
