Act for Kids is a prominent provider of free prevention, professional therapy and support services for children who have suffered abuse and support for families at risk. With over 25 centres nationally, we have supported thousands of children and their families for more than 30 years. In 2019 - 2020 we provided services to 44,894 people, including over 29,000 children.

Our unique multidisciplinary teams provide integrated therapy, sexual abuse counselling, safe houses in remote Indigenous communities, information, advice and referral services, intensive family support and early learning centres designed for children with additional development needs to ensure we set them up for success at school.

About the role…

We are seeking an Administration Officer to join our Gold Coast team.

This position is part-time (0.8FTE / 4 days per week) and fixed term to 31 December 2022. Extension of employment contract beyond December 2022 is subject to the continued successful government funding of the program.

This position will be based across two centres (Labrador and Varsity Lakes) and operate between the hours of 9.30am – 5.30pm.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage reception, incoming phone calls and all correspondence including emails.
  • Welcome and interact with all clients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Regional Director, Program Managers, Program Coordinators and other team members.
  • Undertake role as WH&S officer and Fire Safety for Gold Coast offices.
  • Update records using our client database and ensuring secure handling and storage of files.
  • Interact with suppliers to ensure the office is properly resourced.
  • Fulfil basic finance functions e.g. banking, petty cash, and timesheets

About you...

  • Cert III in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least two years’ experience providing administrative support to a busy office, preferably in the human services industry.
  • Proven strong administration skills and an ability to multi-task.
  • A high level of proficiency using all Microsoft Office applications and experience with finance systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to be part of a high-energy team in a challenging environment.
  • Honesty and professionalism, with a respect for our clients and customers

About the pay...

  • Position is classified Level 3.1 – 3.4 under the SCHCADS award;
  • Salary range is $62,743 – 67,270 plus 9.5% superannuation (pro-rata for part-time);
