The Position

St John of God Health Care (SJGHC) is seeking two motivated and enthusiastic Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) Coordinators to ensure the highest standards of health and safety for our frontline healthcare workers.

The Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) Coordinator is responsible for administering and coordinating the RPP as part of SJGHC’s occupational health and safety policies and practices. You will make a difference to safety by being part of the program.

This role is part of a team that administers the RPP across SJGHC’s hospitals and services to ensure that effective controls are in place to mitigate respiratory hazards, including transmittable airborne diseases. One of these controls is Quantitative Fit Testing of respirators.

You will enjoy a collaborative working environment with internal key stakeholders from Occupational Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Human Resources and Procurement and Supply.

These positions will be based in Perth and Melbourne working full time.

Your success in this role will be your ability to:

  • Administer and coordinate the SJGHC RPP
  • Manage the Quantitative Fit Testing Program as part of the RPP – planning, scheduling and preparing sites for fit testing, including management of logistical requirements and reporting results
  • Contributing to the RPP education and training component, including respirator fit checking / don and doff procedures

The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional or Occupational Hygienist with relevant experience with respiratory protection requirements.
  • A willingness to understand, learn and apply the required standards and processes regarding RPP and fit testing, including understanding of effectiveness of close-fitting respiratory protection.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a complex team environment; ability to forward plan; and, use own initiative to plan and prioritise work to achieve set targets and meet deadlines.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines.
