Great part time HR role with a leading multi-site agribusiness Palgrove has been operating for over 50 years and is the largest Charolais cattle seedstock producer in Australia. The company is very highly regarded and the culture is people focussed, both internally (staff) and externally (clients and stakeholders). Palgrove’s livestock and properties are spread across five regions of Qld and NSW (Cootamundra to Emerald).

Palgrove’s team of 30 works to ensure that everything they do, from long term strategic planning to daily operations, is focussed on producing “world leading” genetics and beef using best practice methods. They pride themselves on their strong relationships developed both within the business and with their clients.

The business has been supported by an external HR consultant, but continuing growth of the business requires a HR professional with a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety to join their team. Initially the role will be part-time 2-2.5 days/week, with the potential to become full-time as the business grows. The preferred location is Palgrove’s office in Brisbane with some flexibility to be based elsewhere in South East Queensland for the right candidate. The HR Advisor will report to the CEO and given the broad geographic spread of staff and properties, there will be planned travel to the properties.

The HR Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Advising the CEO on HR strategy
  • Recruitment, onboarding and professional development
  • Human Resources policies and procedures, ongoing review and compliance
  • Performance management, appraisals, salary reviews and benchmarking
  • ER compliance of contracts, terminations, and investigations
  • Workplace Health & Safety, ensuring all policies and procedures are in place and incidents are investigated
