An exciting opportunity exists for a Paralegal to join our Rockhampton Personal Injuries team on a permanent full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a Lawyer on a variety of legal tasks across all types of personal injuries claims. The successful candidate will have a passion for helping injured clients obtain compensation and be experienced in managing high volume tasks on files under the supervision of a Lawyer. They will need to be deadline driven with both high level communication and client relationship skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • File management;
  • Gathering and analysing data;
  • Identifying relevant issues in documentation;
  • Drafting correspondence & legal documentation;
  • Drafting Statement of Loss and Damages;
  • Drafting claims forms
  • Drafting Quantum Schedules;
  • Obtaining Witness statements;
  • Reviewing and analysing documents (medical records/reports, WorkCover files, liability documents etc.);
  • Liaising with clients (both internal and external); and
  • Ensuring work practices are consistent with MB's policies and procedures, including Law9000.
What we're looking for in you
  • Personal Injuries experience;
  • Paralegal experience will be highly regarded;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills;
  • A strong understanding of court processes and systems;
  • Excellent communication skills in liaising with internal and external clients;
  • Ability to adapt to the work styles of different operators and to work across different practice areas;
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and demonstrate initiative.
