The Role

Ernest Henry Mining is currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to work within the Technical Services team. Ernest Henry Mining’s team of Geotechnical Engineers are responsible for managing all geotechnical aspects of the large scale, Sub-Level Caving operation, working in collaboration with the wider Mine Technical Services team.

You will be responsible for designs & assessments, monitoring, analysis, numerical modelling, QA/QC and underground mapping. There is a strong emphasis on geotechnical hazard identification and mitigation. This role provides excellent exposure to the Sub-Level Caving mining method and you will also take part in cave propagation and subsidence monitoring activities.

This is a full time role, offered as FIFO from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane, DIDO from Mount Isa on an 8/6 roster or residentially based in Cloncurry on a 5/2, 4/3 roster.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with 4 years’ experience as Geotechnical Engineer, in an underground mining environment;
  • Proficiency with mine planning and geotechnical software;
  • The ability to work autonomously and within team environments, while demonstrating strong communication and organisational skills;
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and best practice concepts to encourage a safe and efficient working environment are required;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in relation to both technical and operational personnel.
