Industrial Relations Coordinator – Human Resources and Safety

4 year employment contract / Full Time

Location – Regional

$100,000 to $105,000 base salary per annum

The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville. The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an Industrial Relations Coordinator. As the Industrial Relations Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting Council through effective and efficient human resource management practices which positively contribute to Council’s culture and enable the achievement of the whole of Council and individual goals and objectives.

Essential

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related areas.

• Demonstrated experience in grievance handling and leading complex workplace investigations.

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to develop and convey professional policies and procedures, reports and correspondence appropriate to the intended audience.

• Demonstrated ability to generate and share creative ideas and suggestions for improvement and actively encourage others to contribute.

• Demonstrated ability manage own workload in order to meet established, and at times competing, deadlines and timeframes, ensuring that team and organisational deliverables are achieved.

• Demonstrated current knowledge of Queensland industrial relations framework and legislation.

• Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, persuade and advocate.

• Effective business partnering skills with strong stakeholder management abilities whilst maintaining an approachable manner at all times.

• High level attention to detail.

• Previous experience in a complex environment supporting a wide variety of occupations within the workforce.

• Demonstrated high level computer literacy, with the ability to utilise financial, records management, project management, HRIS and Micro Soft Office suite of programs.

• Must possess and maintain a current Queensland “C” Class motor vehicle driver’s licence
